Volunteer "Frequently Asked Questions"
How long must I volunteer?
There is no set amount of time to volunteer.
How old do I have to be?
You must be at least 16 with school or parent consent or 18 without consent.
Do I need a college degree?
You do not need a degree.
Must I have a set schedule?
You must have a set schedule if you are running or helping out with a scheduled in house program. You do not need a set schedule if you are just assisting in daily activities.
May I make my own schedule?
Yes, you can make your own schedule depending upon what your goal for volunteering would be
(refer to the above question).
Can I bring my own ideas to run a program or activity?
Yes, we welcome new and exciting ideas and talents for our kids but all ideas must first be reviewed and approved by the clubhouse director.
Will I be alone with the kids?
You will never be alone with the kids, you will always be accompanied by a paid staff.
Can I volunteer just 1 time?
Yes, but we can't promise that you won't want to come back again!
Do I need to fill out an application?
Yes, when inquiring about volunteering we will provide you with an application to fill out.
Can I volunteer on the weekends?
You may volunteer on the weekends if there is a site open or an event being run.
Can I work with a specific age group?
Yes, just specify the age group of your interest when you inquire.
Must I have had experience working with kids before?
No, but we do suggest that you like kids!
Can groups volunteer?
Yes, we encourage groups to come. If you have a group interested contact the clubhouse director and set up a time to meet and talk about your group volunteer interests.
