Science and Nature Club
This club meets once a week for an hour and serves anywhere from 5 to 10 children each session. The purpose of this club is to teach and promote environmental awareness and a love of science in all the children involved with the program. Basic science skills are taught through experiments and other activities. Environmental awareness is taught through various hands-on activities as well as craft projects. The hope is that the children will obtain a better understanding of the world around them, and become better stewards of the Earth by recycling and improving upon their daily activities.

Environmental Center-The Dunlap Environmental Center at Camp Hogan bodes a large classroom space where a variety of programs are implemented. The Director of Environmental Education has set up educational nature displays around the center for visitors to enjoy. Local school and service groups are welcome to rent out the space or participate in educational programs taught by our Environmental Educator.
Dragon Fly Quest-shows club members ages 10-15 how to conduct their own investigations using the scientific method, The program provides strategies, tips and resources to help facilitators introduce the scientific method to club members, including how to make observations, ask questions, make predictions, create action plans, collect data and share results. The program builds members’ skills in science, math, and language arts while helping members to think critically about the world around them as they explore topics that appeal to them. Boys and Girls Club of America and Miami University’s Project Dragonfly collaborated to develop the program.
