Volunteer With Us!

Every kid deserves a great future … and you can be part of it.

Volunteers are the backbone of Boys & Girls Club of Lancaster, providing help and care that makes a lasting impact on Lancaster youth. We provide many opportunities for community members to offer their time and talents as after-school program volunteers.

Whatever your passion or field of experience, there are Lancaster kids looking to benefit from it. Individual volunteers can assist with homework help, Supper Club, mentoring, STEM programming, sports, arts & crafts, reading and more. Our members can’t wait to learn from you!

Daily programming consists of:

  • 3:00pm-4:00pm Arrival & Snack
  • 4:00pm-4:30pm Homework Help/Reading
  • 4:30pm-5:00pm Supper Club
  • 6:00pm-7:00pm Enrichment Programs
  • 7:00pm-8:00pm Teen Time

Your unique volunteer experience will depend on your interests and the amount of time you are able to commit. To learn more about the many ways you can get involved, contact Karen Schloer, Kschloer@bgclanc.org.

Mandatory Background Checks

Mandatory criminal background checks for those working or volunteering with youth are a requirement of both Pennsylvania and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Leadership staff and Human Resources review these records on an annual basis for all staff and board members. All potential employees and volunteers are also checked against the National Sex Offender Registry.
